Board of Directors

The new, statewide Colorado AIDS Project is a 501(c)3 organization lead by a board of directors comprised of two to three members from each of the four merged regional organizations, as well as additional members from across the state. The board provides oversight. The members of the governing board are:

Regional Councils

Four regional advisory councils support fundraising and local program development activities in each region. They were initially formed from the boards of directors of each of the regional CAPs.

Interim CEO: Ruth Pederson

Ruth Pederson is the Interim CEO of the new, statewide Colorado AIDS Project. She has served as the Executive Director of the Denver Colorado AIDS Project (DenverCAP, formerly known as, simply, CAP) since 2008. She was hired as Director of Finance of CAP in 2007. Before joining the organization, she was Chief Financial Officer at Griffith Centers for Children. She has served as a financial analyst at Martin Luther Homes, Inc. And she has served as Hospice Director of Centura Home Care and Hospice, as well as executive director of Hospice of Larimer County.

Ruth holds an MBA from Colorado State University and a B.A. from St. Olaf’s College. She and her husband John have lived in Denver since 1999. Before that, they spent 20 years in Ft. Collins.

Regional Directors

Each regional Colorado AIDS Project (CAP) continues to be run by its regional director (formerly the executive directors). The regional directors of each of the CAPs are:
